My cousin from VA and myself enjoyed the tour with Mark. He was very informative.
My daughter and I took the tour Nov. 18 and really enjoyed the experience. Mark, our driver/guide, was fun and informative. Highly recommended if y'all go to Mayberry.
Loved it! A great tour to take around town. The man that drives you is a cool guy. If you like Andy griffin definitely take this tour.
Awesome. Loved the squad car
We took the Squad Car Tour and it was money well spent. To be driven around in a 1963 squad car was so much fun. Our guide,Mr Hooker was both witty and knowledgeable about the history of his home town. The town itself is very friendly and accommodating. Worth the trip.
Awesome tour - driver told a lot of stories and pointed out a lot I'd things that we would have missed!
Great tour, and a wonderful tour guide.
Very fun idea to make your Mayberry experience more memorable. The drivers are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area.
Roger was our guide and was an absolute star!!Thank you so much!
Don was our driver and guide. What a great time. This is a must-do tour
We had Gary as our driver. He was very knowledgeable, didn't mind answering questions, and showed us a lot. Since it was my friend's birthday, he made it special for her. We had a lot of fun, laughed and had and amazing tour. Gary was Awesome... thank you so much Gary.
We spent part of the day in Mt. Airy while passing through the area. The car and the driver Steve made this so much fun and it is very informative.
Worth every dime of the fifty bucks. The folks there were very nice and our driver did a great job.
Mark was our guide... From start to finish, Mark was so enthusiastic about the town and the history, and stories he shared were awesome!I thought I knew everything about the show, but his knowledge left me in awe...Driving with the siren going and all of the places we visited, including the home of Andy Griffin, was so fun.Staff is wonderful and so delightful to talk with... Don't shy away from the cost; this trip was well worth it!!Keith from Ohio...
The Squad Car Tour was the highlight of our trip. I recommend doing this first as you will find out a lot about Mt Airy and Andy Griffith and figure out what are must see places. Our tour guide was Norman and we felt like we were literally riding with Andy and Barney. Reservations are not required, but if you call ahead, request Norman as your tour guide. You will not be disappointed! Also bring cash, they don't take credit cards, and a tip for your driver.
Very informative tour, was so much more than we thought it would be.
Tour is less than a half hour, but very entertaining. Trip to quarry used about half the time, but considered it filler. Interesting but not pertinent to Andy Griffith.
As Andy would say, the Mayberry Squad car tours is "Extra Good". From the minute we climbed in the Ford Galaxy with our guide Roger, we felt like we had an old friend showing us around town. Roger made our trip! It was just like an episode of the show... there was laughs, jokes, and a great moral story at the end that pulls at your heart. Thank you Roger for a wonderful time!
Best spent $$$. We had "Stormin Norman" as our guide, the tour was OUTSTANDING!!!! Loved this trip and will DEFINITELY be bringing outta town guests back for the tour!
Fun, great guide
THIS was one of the highlights of our five week trip around the Carolinas and Virginia. Can’t say enough good things about the drivers. Local fellas who know ALL about the history of the area, the show, Andy, and all the other stars. With a VERY special shout out to ours (I’m REALLY bad with names) for not tossing me in jail with Otis for not having cash to pay. Appreciated the extra time to go back to the bank for a little withdrawal!😬🤣
Worth the price, $50 per car load, took about 40 min, rode in a 63 galaxy police car... Our driver was a good host and entertaining!
Absolutely awesome guide for our Mayberry Tour in the squad car! He was very knowledgeable and I wish I could remember his name. Saw all the hotspots including the quarry. Recommend to any Mayberry enthusiasts to start your tour of the town with this ride first. You will be so glad you did!
We had a good time on our tour with guide Mike. He told us lots of extra information since we are fans of the show. If going on a busy Saturday I would advise go early when they open or call and get a reservation.
Our tour guide was awesome. Stormin Norman was absolutely the best.Very knowledgeable. He made the tour so much fun. Thank you Norm. The Brown's.
Had a great time enjoyed the tour and found out a lot about the town that I didn't know our driver was great and friendly
We had a fantastic time on our tour. We learned so much we didn’t know about Mt Airy and Mayberry. Our guide was so friendly. When our tour ended, we mentioned that we were walking to the Andy Griffith museum… He then drove us there! I found my Mayberry.
Great way to see all the things. Our tour guide was great. Everyone needs to take this tour!!!!!!!
Money well spent. Recommend the tour first to get all the local info and historical facts from life long residents that work the tours
Great tour of the sights of Mt. Airy
Had a wonderful time in Mount Airy North Carolina... Mayberry...was nice to see everything. Stopped in Floyd's Barber 💈 Shop to and saw all the photos there.
Guide was excellent! Lots of interesting facts and stories. Warning if the lady at the tourist center says you can walk to the tour from there, don't do it. Luckily our guide was willing to drop us back at our car. Would ride again it was so fun!
Always a fun experience when you're in town. They do a great job getting you into that Mayberry spirit.
Everyone should do these tours as soon as they get to the area. We did it on our 2nd day and due to the tour found more things we were interested in visiting. LOVED the granite stop. Wish I could get a piece of MtAiry granite. Our tour guide later on would point to the various building that have the granite on their exterior. Our tour guide was friendly & so knowledgeable. OH big heads-up: they don’t accept credit cards so make sure you have cash handy.
Wow!! What a fun and informative time!! Mark was a great tour guide!!
So much fun! Our driver was super knowledgeable and everyone there and at Wallys was super friendly, loved it
So fun!!!! Knowledgeable and friendly tour guides. This is the absolute best way to tour the city. Loved it!
We brought our dear friends from Illinois. The squad car tour of Mt. Airy was the highlight of the day, In large part thanks to our tour guide, "Don Nutts" who was in character right from the beginning when he handcuffed my Illinois friend's wife for stealing chickens. "Don" was not a character from the show, but he was indeed a character! On top of his personality and humor, he proved incredibly knowledgeable about the show, the characters and everything Andy Griffith. Four of us enjoyed the $50.00 per carload tour. It was well worth the reasonable price.
Best day ever! Blaring down Main Street with the siren on… Awesome!
The quaint little shop offers souvenirs. Cindy was extremely friendly! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and you could tell he enjoys doing the tours. It was a great tour, I learned Andy Griffith facts I never knew. The teenage boys with me just loved the old car.
Awesome!
Although we thought the tour was a little pricey ($50 for 2 people), we thoroughly enjoyed our tour guide (Roger). He knew so much about the area and Andy Griffith and that made it very interesting. Thanks Roger!
